The NHBCP

The New Hampshire Birth Conditions Program (NH BCP) is a population-based, active surveillance program designed to address the following goals:

  • Maintain a statewide surveillance system that monitors the occurrence of 45 birth conditions among New Hampshire births.
  • Support efforts with the NH Folic Acid Education Program with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NH DHHS).
  • Improve access for children with birth conditions, and their families, to appropriate health care and early intervention services.
